Welcome back, friends! This week, I'm settling into my Santa Clara abode & getting familiar with the neighborhood here. Luckily, a special someone flew in to greet me! Per his wise & curious interest, he requested the foodies package on my site. This package is one of my favorites, for those who are new to expanding their palate or others who flavor chase worldwide.

After a lot of hard choices & many links to menus shared, we finally agreed on Wild Rose Eatery in Santa Clara. A short drive from my house here & an easy ride over to that area.

The facade is hip but elegant & inviting. The interior boasts hip, photo worthy neon phrases, low, warm lighting and gently sloped velvet furniture with a low pulsing youthful urban vibe. It is upscale but still playful and unpretentious, I think it suited us nicely.

The menu is creative, but doesn't stray too far from the classic vibes and leans mainly toward seafood & beef options with plenty of veggies and nothing that read as very heavy (this was ideal for us).

I considered the ceviche, but decided a mouth full of cut onion was not ideal for the evening (another table nearby ordered it & yeah, the strong onion would have killed the mood haha). I got my typical favorite, the Crudo of course. He decided on the beef. Both were presented in a lovely way & next to no waiting.

We enjoyed the fig n around cocktail enough to order a second one. I thought it would lean more to the jam side, but was pleasantly surprised at the walnut notes leading the way. We skipped dessert, we're watching our lovely figures after all.

Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance, I do think there could have been improvements for little things (no lemon rind on my fish perhaps or less truffle oil in the citrus sauce). Overall, the company was my favorite part & the meal was delicate but balanced. Atmosphere was not as quiet and low key for date night chatting, but luckily we had more time together previously to have some great conversations. Super fun place I think for a group of friends to enjoy a seafood tower and champagne though. Do check them out if you like modern elegance in the Santa Clara neighborhood!

Xoxo
